Learn more about what it is like to work in healthcare and what it takes to get there. Dr. Margaret Chiu will be providing a physician's perspective during her q&a session to answer your questions about what it is like to work in healthcare. The talk will be a presentation designed around your questions selected from padlet submissions. She will also take questions at the end of the session as well.
Margaret Chiu is a 2007 Hammie who is working as an anesthesiologist in the Berkeley/Oakland area. She grew up in Columbus, Ohio where her parents still reside. She attended California Institute of Technology where she obtained a B.S. in biology. She went on to complete medical school and residency in anesthesiology at University of California, San Diego. She has recently started working as a private practice anesthesiologist in the bay area. In residency, Margaret worked on a project to help residents connect with their patients better by playing patient preference music for them. She also has an interest in global health and recently worked with a hospital in Tanzania to provide continued education to their anesthesia providers. Margaret's free time is currently spent training her new puppy, weight lifting, and playing violin.
