More Info: Most of my background is AmeriCorps focused so I can be a resource for individuals who are interested in serving in AmeriCorps as a way to gain experience and opportunities that also may prove helpful in pursuing graduate school or career options.

Currently, I'm serving on Boards of two organizations that might interest Hammies. The Civic Learning Council, www.civiclearningcouncil.org and the National Museum and Center for Service, www.nmcfs.org are organizations that promote civic education at the K-12 level and help promote volunteerism and service via the building of museums of service on college and high school campuses and at local libraries and community centers. Both of these efforts are focused on building a more united and caring country via service and volunteerism.

I'm also helping the Education Service District in the Spokane area in WA state assist all who lost their homes in the Spokane wildfires earlier this month. Hammies that have ideas about how best to assist students who experienced this type of loss directly or indirectly would be extremely helpful as we plan approaches to best assist students and families as they rebuild their lives and deal with the long-term recovery process.
