Adedoyin Abimbola

Adedoyin is outspoken and adventurous, moving to wherever the wind takes her. She promotes a space of love and enjoyment no matter the circumstances at hand. She has dedicated herself to fighting against teen domestic violence and injustice in numerous ways and her efforts have proved successful.

Adedoyin is a respected advocate for black voices in her school community, taking from her experiences growing up, to amplify unheard voices. Her determination has no limits, as Adedoyin became president and revitalized her school’s Black Student Alliance, allowing her to provide a safe space to foster equity. She helped to raise over 500 dollars and create events that led to cultural appreciation amongst the student body. She prides herself in her work in the Youth Advisory Board of the Day One Organization. Adedoyin has been able to spread awareness on teen dating violence and fight against it with her communal efforts. Through marches, campaigns and education, Adedoyin has brought the youth one stop closer to safety and love for all.

But Adedoyin’s efforts reach further into people’s hearts. First and foremost, community has always been at the epicenter of her life as the child of Nigerian immigrants who survived due to the accepting community they found in America. Everyone knows it takes a village, but Adedoyin believes it takes the world. To be a part of this contributing world, Adedoyin is also a volunteer mentor in the first ever cohort of Girls Becoming Women in which she guides young women passionate like herself towards the greatness they are destined for. With her fun-loving personality and easy-going mood, Adedoyin brings a good time to those who need it most, and then some.

Driven by her heart and community, Adedoyin will not stop here. She aspires to become a communications director, using her everlasting love for writing, people and public speaking to help others in achieving their dreams. With this, she hopes to bridge gaps within communication and bring people together. Because as her saying goes “It takes the world”.
